Alexis is a mixed-methods researcher who specializes in how affect, behavior, and anxiety influence learner outcomes within interactive learning environments. She holds a Doctorate in Education and a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied with Ryan Baker at the Penn Center for Learning Analytics.

She conducts mixed-methods research on education technology applications to evaluate student/teacher interactions with these platforms, their outcomes on learning, and to discovery underlying causes for effective and ineffective uses of these platforms. She is particularly interested in how affect, behavior, and anxiety influence learner outcomes within interactive learning environments. Drawing from the fields of learning analytics, educational data mining, and quantitative ethnography, she analyzes data involving human-computer interactions across various educational platforms. Through her research, she strives to investigate and enhance the learning experiences and outcomes of students across all demographic backgrounds.
Alexis holds a Doctorate in Education and a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ateneo de Manila University.
